ADVOCACY FOR IEP MEETINGS AND DUE PROCESS HEARINGS
Full review of current and past IEPs (Individual Education Plan), as well as other educational and psychological evaluation documents pertinent to the student’s placement.
Face-to-face interviews with parents and student regarding the student’s overall educational experience.
Recommendations for effective educational planning and the necessary steps for implementation, which may include attendance at parent/teacher conferences and IEP meetings.
Advocacy representative for parents during school conferences, IEP meetings, and due process hearings.
ACADEMIC COACHING AND EDUCATIONAL STRATEGIES
Promotion of effective strategies for school success.
Development of a master plan for the student’s homework completion and time management.
Evaluation of the student’s strengths and challenges and implementing comprehensive tools to empower the student towards independence.
Classroom observations, interviews, and school meetings as needed.
TUTORING AND SAT/ACT PREPARATION
Private, one-to-one tutoring in all academic subjects, fifth grade through high school.
Assistance with written comprehension, formal reports and term papers, including research, organizational guidelines and finished products.
Preparation for taking the SAT/ACT and other application requirements for college entrance.
SOCIAL SKILLS CONSULTATION
Successful goals to build self-confidence and self-esteem.
Generation of positive strategies to enable a person to advocate regarding his/her challenges, disabilities, and requirements for being a worthwhile contributor in school, the work force and the community.
Social coaching for effective friendship building, and collaborative workplace relationships.
ADA GUIDELINES FOR WORKPLACE AND COMMUNITY SETTINGS
Procedures regarding the IDEA, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and Section 504 of the American Disabilities Act (ADA), for special education students, specifically those on the Autism Spectrum.
Recognition of the guidelines for service dogs and emotional support animals in accordance with the ADA.
Accommodations for service animals in educational settings, public facilities and areas of employment.
